Ledaig 12 Year – Dun Bheagan

Ledaig 12 Year - Dun Bheagan Taste Profile
Stats – 46% alcohol, unchill filtered, butt cask #800007, distilled March 1997 and bottled 2010 by Dun Bheagan, from the Tobermory distillery, Isle of Mull
Price – $70
Color – Light straw
Nose – Warm and sweet, some alcohol, well rounded and peaty
Palate – Very smooth, the midpalate is a touch spicy and grassy, but a warm and buttery taste combine with smooth smoldering peat takes over for the long and slow finish.  The iodine and sulfur quality of most Island malts is present at the end, but doesn’t overpower any of the other tastes here.
